Masha Novoselova wound and bound, one of the most painful looking shoes I’ve ever seen, and the intriguing title If I’m Evil Why Are You Satisfied?

Bondage and fetish fashion wer clearly an underlying theme in this shoot for Tush. It may be somewhat NSFW due to nudity, but definitely worth a look through for the stunning black and white visuals and the styling of Masha in everything from studded leather to a ginormous live python.

It wasn’t so much the nature of his death that rocked people, but rather that we could be robbed of the talent who was Alexander McQueen so long before his time. That talent will be forever captured in his best work and, while pre-Fall collections are infrequently known for it, the Alexander McQueen Pre-Autumn / Pre-Fall 2010 collection stands out for having a level of detail that most designers would be satisfied to call their complete seasonal collection.

It’s a sad fact that when an exhibition comes to town, you think you have all the time in the world to go and view it… and then, all of a sudden, it’s gone. Do not dally on this one Melbourne readers (nor visitors to the city for that matter); it may be here til October but that’s all the more danger to be lulled into the procrastination trap.

Titled ’til you drop: shopping - a Melbourne history this exhibition is a beautifully curated look at the social history of Melbourne through shopping, from the glory days of Marvelous Melbourne up to the not-quite-so marvelous present. While it’s not strictly fashion related (food and homewares also make an appearance) it’s the fashion memorabilia that will have every fashioniser enthralled and inspired.

Top Gear is pretty much the only show about cars that can keep me well and truly entertained. We get the impression that if Terry Richardson was responsible for the show’s programming it would be full of naked models and fiery car crashes. Not that Jeremey Clarkson & co would complain about that fact - but they probably wouldn’t remain on air for very long.

Thankfully the world of fashion magazine is far more forgiving. Richardson shot this Top Gear inspired shoot, featuring Mariacarla Boscono, for issue #21 of Muse.
