We think that sometimes this ongoing nudity in fashion trend has us turn a jaded eye towards every pictorial we see. It’s also not helped by the ongoing fetish fashion trend. The shoot Sart Sorbet features model Polina Barbasova playing amongst a festival of balloons (yes it’s the correct collective noun). Perfectly innocent.

Well… recently a friend recounted to me a message she received in which a man had requested photos of her with balloons. Needless to say she ignored the message, but apparently there’s a fetishist subculture even for that. Globophilia it’s known as.

It’s rare to see Karl Lagerfeld stray very far from the classic. Even the futurism of last season was carefully balanced by the classical, yet Fall 2010 was rife with modern elements and futurist references. High-shine patent leather came in the form of leggings and jacket trim, before things got sportier with piped zip-up jackets and leggings which buttoned up at the sides.

A token of his unmistakable genius, Alexander McQueen’s final collection made its debut at Paris Fashion Week. Each of the 16 pieces are breathtaking: ornately detailed and sublimely majestic, inspired by art and classical paintings. Gilt feathers breaking out into a voluminous tulle skirt. Dresses paired with black leather thigh-high boots; buckled, with the most baroquely elaborate gold soles. Heavily embroidered coats and gowns in stunning patterns.

What exactly is Penthouse Mouse? We weren’t exactly sure what we were in for when we rocked up fashionably late to the project’s launch on Friday night. Turns out, it’s a hell of a lot of things all rolled into one.

It’s a gallery. A store. It’s art and fashion. It has live photoshoots and parades and speeches coming up in the next few weeks. Making its home at the former Naval & Military Club at the top end of Little Collins, Melbourne, Penthouse Mouse is in for a busy time.

Celebrating its launch on Friday were fashion industry and fashion lovers alike, and we spotted (and snapped) many an intriguing outfit amoungst the crowd.

Beautiful, sophisticated, minimal. It’s what Stella McCartney does best, and it was on display for Fall 2010. Tailored suits and jackets were relaxed while evening dresses were short and layered with sheer organza; sometimes over lace or fish scale paillettes.

Now here is one epic lingerie lookbook. Coming in at 99 images, Myla Lingerie’s Spring 2010 lookbook has lots of great sets, and gives front and back angles of each. I’m particularly smitten with the pretty pastels; while some of Myla’s little lace triangle bras are just right for wearing under a sheer top or low-cut singlet for a sexy exposed lingerie look.
