Acid washed and ripped jeans are a told story, but their casual-cum-rocker styling for Topshop’s Spring 2010 collection certainly doesn’t lack appeal. If you’re after real inspiration for Spring 2010, however, draw it from the mid-waisted ripped denim shorts paired with knee high socks.

The comeback of the original supermodels is an old story. Yet for all the times we’ve seen (and appreciated) the ’second coming’ of the likes of Claudia Schiffer and Stephanie Seymour, we’ve seldom seen much of Australia’s original and, arguably, only supermodel Elle Macpherson. Yet there, on the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 catwalk, amongst so many other models who wouldn’t normally hit the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week, she was.

So accepted has the fusion of nudity and fashion become that it’s continually creeping from inside the pages of fashion-forward magazines and onto their covers. Recently it was Conde Nast’s Love magazine that partook, now it’s a three-edition cover for the forthcoming Spring 2010 issue of 25 magazine.

It’s an unexpected combination. Marc Jacobs‘ delicate silk bra and briefs paired with combat boots and a khaki green cap. In fact this whole shoot is dedicated to the mashing of these two otherwise antithetical trends: lingerie as outerwear and utilitarian military clothing.
And it would seem that when it comes to fashion’s new military, Eniko Mihalik is Major General; taking on top secret missions in the Spanish Isles and fighting global warming among other things. She’s one busy girl.
