Now here is one epic lingerie lookbook. Coming in at 99 images, Myla Lingerie’s Spring 2010 lookbook has lots of great sets, and gives front and back angles of each. I’m particularly smitten with the pretty pastels; while some of Myla’s little lace triangle bras are just right for wearing under a sheer top or low-cut singlet for a sexy exposed lingerie look.

No one can dispute that Christophe Decarnin’s designs for Balmain are brilliant, simply peruse Balmain Fall 2010 and you’ll not only see sumptuous detail but be privy to the vibe for fashion for the coming year. And whilst the majority of a Balmain collection may appeal, there is still the odd occasion where we feel the need to bring a specific piece to your attention. Though not from their Fall 2010 collection, the Balmain studded military blazer is spot on with the evolution of the military fashion trend for the Spring 2010 fashion season.

It wasn’t so much the nature of his death that rocked people, but rather that we could be robbed of the talent who was Alexander McQueen so long before his time. That talent will be forever captured in his best work and, while pre-Fall collections are infrequently known for it, the Alexander McQueen Pre-Autumn / Pre-Fall 2010 collection stands out for having a level of detail that most designers would be satisfied to call their complete seasonal collection.

Deibe Rondon’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection takes sophisticated forms - and adds feminine details like ruffles and bows to create fun, sometimes whimsical, looks. Silk, satin and luxe knits form the basis of the range; while the playful full-skirted dresses are perhaps the most stand-out of the lot.

Far from the open-fronted tops and silk hot pants we saw for Spring, Prada’s Fall 2010 collection was heavy, full, and ultimately classic. The fifties and early-sixties influences were obvious to say the least: cat’s eye glasses, beehives, and hourglass silhouettes will have fans of AMC’s Mad Men enthralled.

Garnering just as much attention than the clothes themselves were Miuccia’s models. She brought out girls most often reserved for the Victoria’s Secret catwalk; amoung them Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, and Alessandra Ambrosio (and, to be honest, we can’t recall the last time we saw Alessandra on a runway in anything more than a bra.)

Perhaps the general lack of fabric is a valid limitation, but it seems that few brands really get imaginative when it comes to swimwear. It’s the sort of thing you can’t entirely reinvent (though the Victoria’s Secret topless monokini has probably come closest to doing so recently); but you can take the same old styles and reimagine them with new details. This bikini from Beach Bunny’s Spring 2010 lookbook brings leather to swimwear in a way that’s elegant and even a little to the gladiator / warrior woman side.

A quick search for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley confirms my suspicions: we usually see the model and her bee-stung lips in ultra-sexy outfits, sometimes nothing at all. Changing pace (though still, admittedly, in lingerie) Rosie’s shoot for Monsoon is more to the pretty, delicate side.
