Friday Furnishings: Bid ‘Em High

Oh, dear readers, the Fashion of Goodwill Gala and Silent Auction is almost here! In the immortal words of the Pointer Sisters, “I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it!” In a little break from the usual Friday routine, and in keeping with the spirit of the Gala, I want to give you an exclusive sneak peak at some of the collectibles up for auction. And remember: you can still purchase tickets online and be in on all the fashionable festivities! Let’s see just what you have to look forward to that night…

A set of classic hand-painted, thatched-seat, red-varnichsed Hitchcock chairs.

A black wood vanity set (containing a brush, comb, mirror, and powder puff holder) with real ivory inlay and hand-painted Chinese decor on the lid and on each item inside.

An antique frame with child’s portrait. Note the hairstyle!

A Carpet Bowl play set from the original Abercrombie & Fitch in NYC. Instructions included!

A hand-painted Hurricane vase with gold detail on the stem. It’s brand new!

And - perhaps the rarest item - 19th century Red Ware from France, in outstanding condition for a piece of it’s type and size (it’s nearly one foot in diameter). This is a true collector’s item…

These items and nearly 85 more will be up for auction next Thursday at the French Embassy. And if you can’t be at the live event, don’t forget that our eBay auction - featuring all of the clothes from the Virtual Photo Shoot (that’s you’ve been sneaking a peek at for the last few weeks) starts at midnight on September 19th, the same time the Virtual show goes live! It’s almost too much to take…
